With cold weather behind us, New Hampshire residents are looking forward to warm summer months. Before those warm temperatures turn hot and humid it is best to make sure your air conditioner is ready to keep your home comfortable. Some people wonder if they need to have this maintenance performed every year. We say yes, and explain why in this blog.
If you were going to drive your car across-country you would most likely have it tuned-up first. You’d want to ensure it was running in top condition. You can think of your A/C in much the same way. Having an annual tune-up ensures your cooling system will run more efficiently and effectively.
Regular tune-ups preserve your unit and make it last longer, which allows you to go longer before you need to buy a new one. Repairs during routine maintenance check-ups cost less than they do during an emergency HVAC repair.
Having your system checked annually can extend the lifespan of your home’s air conditioner. Having a professional look at it can give you a better idea of when a replacement may be required as well.
Dust and debris inevitably collects in the coils of air conditioning units. This can cause build-up which impedes airflow and blocks heat transfer, all meaning you’re A/C won’t be able to cool your home efficiently. According to the EPA, airflow problems can result in up to 15% efficiency loss. Less efficiency means higher energy costs.
Most new air conditioners come with a limited warranty from the manufacturer. These can differ but many manufacturers state that installation and maintenance by a licensed HVAC service provider are a part of the warranty conditions.
When you schedule an A/C maintenance check with Lakes Region Heating and Air Conditioning, we will perform the following services:
We recommend you schedule your annual air conditioning maintenance appointment during the spring. Pre-summer appointments tend to be more flexible as summer is one of our busiest times of year. Plus, your home will be ready for the hot weather we get during New Hampshire summers.
